In many vacation destination countries such as Cuba and China, human rights violations are the order of the day. These countries nevertheless enjoy great popularity among package vacation tourists. Either from a lack of interest or simple ignorance most of these tourists choose to ignore the reality that large parts of their vacation money go directly into the coffers of inhuman systems and even to the military. The International Society for Human Rights — the ISHR — and the German advertising agency Leo Burnett launched a campaign to draw attention to the fact that you, as a traveler in these countries, are directly supporting their political regimes. They are seeking to ensure that travelers look into their chosen travel destination country in advance and consequently opt for another destination if need be. Since most package vacations are now booked online, the target group will be approached directly at the source. The online game “Tourist Paradise” was specifically created for this purpose.The game was uploaded to various gaming platforms.
